Hello, I’m a web craftsman with a passion for the modern web. I build web applications and play with social services and communities.

This article is related to 24 hours of Mac OS X Leopard Server.
After 72 hours everything is different…
Eventually I got the Web, Wiki and iCal Server to work. The folders to store the content of the services haven’t had the right rights to get accessed by the services.
So far the Wiki and iCal Server look very good! Excellent ajax interface for the wiki server which makes formatting posts and attaching files enjoyable. The same for iCal. Very impressive.
Unfortunately AFP does crash now every time a client tries to connect. Not only that AFP crashes, it also brings the whole server down. I didn’t change any setting for AFP and can’t even look for a fix. Every time I try to connect with Server Admin the server crashes as well. Eventually my only choise:
Reinstall. Damn. Gonna be a long night. I hope 10.5.2 will make things easier.

Looking forward when the client ask for a wiki on how to prepare new interns to take charge of BTC projects, or how to manage the clients interns for cooking schedules in ical… Life will be lots lots easier then. OOOOh 10.5…
Can you write an how to for wiki? I’ve the same problem and can’t figure out!
Thanks
Do you mean the problem from my last post?

Nov 18 21:22:48 peacechild com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.wikid): Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds
Or what exactly doesn’t work on your server?
I will write a small how to in a few hours but would like to focus on your problem because I think a lot of people do have problems with the current OS X Server version.
The one in your recent post: on apple forum theres no hint

Thank’s in advance :)
Ok I can’t help you with the error messages, but the tutorial for setting up the wiki server is now online:
http://m-schmidt.eu/?p=34
Hope it helps.
I am also seeing similar errors on a new build of 10.5.6. The log is attached. Any help is appreciated.

Same problem with 10.6.3, Snow Leopard Server on a Mac Mini Server… wikid, throttling respawn, … I’d just add that mine also says “com.apple.wikid[91820]: AssertionError” in there as well, FWIW.
Are you still there, Matthias? Or anyone else with a resolution to this?
Well.. I am still here, but I left OS X Wiki Server a long time ago and don’t look back! But I think my tutorial should still be working: http://blog.m-schmidt.eu/2007/11/24/how-to-setup-leopard-wiki-server/
